All of the cookies and brownies at Great American Cookies start with carefully tested recipes, highly controlled production, and the finest premium ingredients from their batter facility in Atlanta, Georgia. The end result is the best possible fresh-baked products at an affordable price.
Great American Cookies became an instant retail phenomenon in 1977 when the first store opened in Atlanta, Georgia’s Perimeter Mall. Founded on the strength of a generations-old family chocolate chip cookie recipe, the company eventually set the standard for gourmet cookie sales in shopping centers nationwide.
In 2009, new parent company NexCen Brands, which owns several food franchise concepts, introduced a rebranding and remodeling program for Great American Cookies. It also launched strategic improvements including making key hires on its management team and opening a new "Innovation Lab" to produce new products.
Great American Cookies has currently nearly 300 domestic and international locations. Great American Cookies is beginning to share the fun of cookies around the world. New stores have opened in Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom, among other places, and new Master Franchise agreements are in development.

As a new franchisee, you will have the opportunity to attend an in-depth training course at Famous Brands University in Salt Lake City, UT. At Famous Brands University, their goal is to provide franchisees with the tools and perspective needed to operate a successful franchise.
Franchise partner profile
To ensure that their franchisees will be able to qualify with both lenders and landlords, Famous Brands requires potential franchisees within the United States to have at least $75,000 in liquid capital and a $225,000 net worth. In addition, food service and/or retail experience is desired, although not mandatory.
