Start-up concept

Ben & Jerry's tries hard to maintain a franchise system where diversity, teamwork and individuality are treasured, encouraged and respected.

Ben & Jerry's provides you with both ongoing as well as initial support and training. It begins with an 8-day program of practical training at the Scoop University, the company’s national training center in South Burlington, VT. When your location is almost ready to open, you will have the opportunity to receive on-site instruction for a few days at your location. Throughout your time as a Ben & Jerry's franchise owner , you will also receive regular visits from Ben & Jerry's franchise support experts, as well as an attentive support staff who are always only a phone call away!

Possibly the most important and challenging decision you will make in this business is selecting a site for your store. Even though franchise owners are required to find their sites, the Ben & Jerry's franchise team will assist you in understanding the site selection process and in giving you very useful tools.

Partner profile

Ben & Jerry’s is currently expanding their franchise system in the best markets throughout the United States. They are seeking both single store and multi-unit operators to be part of their growing success.

Being a Ben & Jerry's franchise owner and operator means challenging yourself to run a business that cares about their customers and the local community. Ben & Jerry's franchisees uphold the company’s 3-part statement of purpose: believe in their values and are not afraid to stick up for issues, like marriage equality, the environment, or federal budget reforms. They love to represent Ben & Jerry's in their cities, neighborhoods, and towns.

Ben & Jerry's looks for at least 2 years of prior retail management or restaurant experience at the General Manager level or higher within the last 10 years, upstanding community involvement, good business insight, aptitude to meet the company’s financial requirements, and a commitment and desire to follow the franchise’s requirements and guidelines.
