SONIC has announced that it has appointed four new members to its Oklahoma City corporate leadership group in order to bolster the strategy and growth of the brand. The four new members are Clas Petersson (vice president of product & packaging), Bob Franke (senior vice president of field services/east region), Larry Archibald (vice president of brand systems) and Tanishia Beacham (vice president of field marketing).

Clifford Hudson, board chairman and CEO for Sonic Corp, commented, “These four individuals and the work they’ll perform over time for SONIC represent a continuation of investing in talent and leadership for our brand. They bring to SONIC extensive experience, insights and fresh thinking that will immediately and positively impact the momentum of the brand in 2012 and beyond.”

SONIC began as a hamburger and root beer stand in 1953 in Shawnee, Okla., called Top Hat Drive-In, and then changed its name to SONIC in 1959. As the nation’s largest chain of drive-in restaurants, SONIC has more than 3,500 drive-ins in 43 states coast to coast. According to the information provided, SONIC and its franchise partners have donated more than $2 million to public school classrooms in local communities across the country. (kbp)
