Snap Fitness opens 1,000th Club

According to a report published on the website,, the Snap Fitness franchise has opened a new club in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the 1,000th club in its network.

In an interview, Peter Taunton, CEO and Founder of Snap Fitness, commented: “Snap Fitness has grown at such a rapid pace because we offer what consumers increasingly want – a fast, convenient and affordable workout solution – and offer an appealing franchise opportunity to potential investors and club owners. This is a tremendous milestone for us, as we launched our franchise in Minnesota and are now opening our 1,000th club where it all began.”

Founded in 2003 by CEO Peter Taunton, the Minnesota-based company offers compact, state-of-the-art, 24/7 express fitness clubs. With the first franchise beginning business in 2004, the network has developed rapidly with clubs now located in 48 states, Canada, Mexico and India. According to the article, additional clubs are currently being developed in Australia and New Zealand and the franchise is planning to have increased its network to between 3,500 and 4,000 centers over the next five years.
