New Yorker chain founds new franchise companies
According to reports in the Austrian press, the New Yorker clothes chain has founded several new firms including the New Yorker Franchise Russland GmbH as well as a further franchise business for the Ukraine and one for the Middle East with all of them being registered in Vienna.
This could mean, therefore, that Vienna will be used as a springboard for further company expansion abroad with franchising being the preferred method. The three franchise businesses will be operating under a newly founded holding company. The Braunschweig-based clothes group currently has more than 500 branches in 17 countries. The first New Yorker store in Sweden was also opened up recently in February.
