Moe's Southwest Grill appoints Paul Damico brand president

FOCUS Brands has announced that Paul Damico has been appointed brand president of Moe's Southwest Grill, a fast-casual restaurant well-known for its South-western dishes served in a vibrant and inviting atmosphere.

FOCUS Brands acquired the brand in August 2007. Since then, Steve Romaniello, President and CEO, had been leading the Moe's brand whilst looking at the same time for the right person to grow the concept. According to information provided by the company, it is planning to open 75 new Moe's locations in 2008.

Romaniello commented on the appointment saying, “We were looking for the sort of leader whose experience reflected a strategic and long term approach to operations and a sound grasp of concept development. Paul's extensive operational background and ability to lead people makes him ideal in this role, and we are thrilled to have him on board.”

Moe's Southwest Grill is, the company says, the neighborhood burrito place offering flavorful Southwestern fare with a healthy twist. Founded in 2000, the chain currently has almost 400 locations across the country. FOCUS Brands Inc. is the franchisor and operator of over 2,200 ice cream stores, bakeries, restaurants and cafes in the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and numerous foreign countries under the brand names Carvel, Cinnabon, Schlotzsky's and Moe's Southwest Grill.
