Lufthansa City Center: record results for the franchise chain
Lufthansa City Center (LCC), a chain of franchise-run travel agencies, succeeded in increasing its turnover by 5.9 percent in 2006. According to information provided by the company, the approx. 300 German LCC partner offices achieved a turnover of 1.78 billion euros.
The global network of 580 travel agencies generated sales of 3.8 billion euros – a record figure for Lufthansa City Center Reisebüropartner GmbH.
Furthermore, 30 new LCC partners opened up businesses outside Germany in 2006. During the twelve-month period, Lufthansa City Center launched its concept onto several new markets including Denmark, Sweden, Portugal, Chile and Vietnam. The franchise chain is expecting to achieve a global turnover of four billion euros during the current business year. In order to achieve this, the company is aiming to extend its network, especially outside Germany.
