Little Caesars teams up with the Detroit Tigers to serve hot pizza meals to people in need

The Little Caesars franchise has announced that the Little Caesars Love Kitchen, with the help of the Detroit Tigers, began providing fresh, hot pizza meals for people in need in Detroit on January 21 at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. In support of the Little Caesars Love Kitchen, Detroit Tigers pitchers Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer are participating in the serving as part of the annual Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan.

Established in 1985, the Little Caesars Love Kitchen is a pizza kitchen on wheels. It travels across the continental United States and Canada meeting the needs of the hungry, the homeless and disaster survivors. Since its inception, the Little Caesars Love Kitchen has fed more than two million people in need.

The Detroit Tigers are owned by Little Caesars’ founder Mike Ilitch, who along with his wife Marian, opened their first Little Caesars restaurant in 1959 in Garden City, Michigan. Little Caesars is now the largest carry-out chain internationally with restaurants on five continents.

“Little Caesars Pizza created the Love Kitchen to provide quality meals for people who need them, and we’re honored to have the Detroit Tigers participate in a feeding and join us in giving back to our hometown,” said Brian Pattison, Midwest zone vice president, company operations, Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc. “We are also proud to continue our support of S.A.Y. Detroit by serving soup kitchens and shelters in our community for the next two weeks.” The Little Caesars Love Kitchen will visit 11 sites and feed more than 2,500 people over two weeks.

Little Caesars Pizza founders Michael and Marian Ilitch opened their first restaurant in Garden City, Michigan in 1959. According to the company, Little Caesars added more stores in the world in 2009 than any other pizza chain and today is the largest carry-out chain internationally with restaurants on five continents. Little Caesars is growing in prime markets across the country, and is offering strong franchisee candidates an opportunity for independence with a proven system. For the third year in a row, Little Caesars was named “Best Value in America” of all quick-serve restaurant chains. (kbp)
