KFC donates $20,000 to the World Food Program

Last month, in an attempt to push forward the debate about world hunger, KFC publicly offered to donate $20,000 to world hunger relief if anyone involved in Nashville’s Oct. 7 presidential debate – candidates, moderators or audience members – mentioned world hunger during the nationally televised debate. KFC has now announced that, while world hunger wasn’t actually mentioned during the televised presidential debate, it is still honoring its mission to help fight world hunger by donating $20,000 to the United Nation’s World Food Programme.

Based in Louisville, Kentucky, the KFC Corporation is one of the world's most popular chicken restaurant chains. According to the information provided by the company, KFC has more than 11,000 restaurants in more than 80 countries and territories around the world and serves nearly eight million customers each day. KFC is part of Yum! Brands, Inc. which owns several brands including A&W All-American Food™, Taco Bell, Long John Silver's and Pizza Hut. (kbp)
