Kentucky Fried Chicken tests a new franchise concept
According to a report published by the Internet portal cafefuture.net, the fast-food chain, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), is testing a new system in the USA where grilled products are also being sold alongside their normal deep-fat fried chicken dishes. According to the information, the new range is currently being tested in California and Colorado. Should it prove to be a success, then it could be extended to the whole of its franchise network.
KFC was founded in the USA in 1930 and today has over 12,300 outlets in more than 80 countries. KFC has, cafefuture.net reports, tried several times to introduce a non-fried line of products over the last ten years but without success. The KFC head office, however, believes that the situation is better now. The tests are part of a general modernisation of the brand. Other measures include launching new marinades and fat-reduced dishes.
