Jani-King franchise recognized for its green cleaning standards

Jani-King has announced that its office in Cincinnati has been named a finalist for the coveted 2012 Green Business Award presented by the Cincinnati Business Journal and the U.S. Green Building Council. According to the information provided, Jani-King of Cincinnati’s nomination stems from its implementation of the Jani-King GREEN 2011 Cleaning Schedule.

Jani-King of Cincinnati’s GREEN 2011 Cleaning Schedule is based on the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system that was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The GREEN 2011 Cleaning Schedule is, the company says, one of the most comprehensive solutions on the market that allows businesses to selectively choose from a menu of Green Clean offerings to meet their specific goals. In the past, a one-size-fits-all has deterred many smaller businesses due to cost and concern.

Blake Seylhouwer, owner of Jani-King of Cincinnati, commented, “Going green is easy if you’re a Fortune 500 company because you have the resources and money. For small and medium sized businesses, it is hard to go green because they lack those resources. We wanted to put together a green cleaning schedule for small and medium size business to follow so they can become green as well. The customized green cleaning schedule makes financial sense and takes out the fear of the 'expensive green transition'.”

The winners of the awards will be announced at the Green Business Awards reception which is being held on Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
