Jack Wolfskin: franchise expansion at home and abroad
Jack Wolfskin, a retailer of outdoor clothing, currently has franchisees in Belgium, Romania, Finland, Great Britain, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Ukraine, Japan and in China. The company has announced that it is intending to launch its concept on further markets in Eastern Europe and Asia in the future.
In 2007, this franchise company opened up just under 40 new franchise stores: 27 of which were in Germany and six in Austria. This means, therefore, that the number of Jack Wolfskin shops in Austria doubled last year. All in all, there are 144 franchise locations in Germany, 14 in Austria and seven in Switzerland. According to Jack Wolfskin sales increased by 21 percent in the franchise stores as well as in the sports shops selling their goods. In 2007, Europe-wide net sales increased to 156.3 million euros (2006: 129.6 million euros).
