Firehouse Subs franchise enjoys a highly successful 2011
Last month, Firehouse Subs announced that it surpassed company goals and industry averages in 2011 resulting in it having a record-breaking year. According to the information provided by the company, the brand grew by 79 restaurants, added 80 new franchisees and entered 13 new markets, including its first outside the continental United States. Furthermore, the average unit volume grew from $604,000 to $657,000, an increase of 9.3 percent and same-restaurant sales grew by 6.5 percent.
Don Fox, chief executive officer of Firehouse of America, LLC, commented, “We had a clear mission in 2011 – to be better than we have ever been before and achieve record breaking results. We continue to build upon the Firehouse Subs traditions that have served us so well, and to ensure those traditions are passed on to the thousands of franchisees, managers and team members who will join us over the years to come.”
Continuing the momentum in 2012, Firehouse Subs will, the company says, begin testing television advertising in several markets. The commercials will feature the firefighting brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, who are the voices of the brand’s radio commercials.
Firehouse Subs, founded by former firefighting brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, is a 495-unit fast casual restaurant chain. The restaurants reflect the authentic firefighter heritage of the founding family’s 200 years of firefighting service. (kbp)
