ENGEL & VÖLKERS expands in Spanish cities
Having opened its first shops in Barcelona and Madrid, Engel & Völkers has begun its move to expand into large Spanish cities. More offices are due to follow soon: two more in Barcelona as well as a further three in Madrid. By setting up these offices, this franchise company is looking to attract both local customers and foreigners looking for their own property in these large cities.
As it has been active on the Spanish islands and along the coast of Spain for a long while, Engel & Völkers already has, it says, a strong market position for people looking for second homes or holiday homes. The company has been active in Spain since 1989; the first office was opened on Palma de Mallorca. Besides the 18 branches on Mallorca, offices can also be found on Ibiza and Gran Canary, on the Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca, Costa de la Luz and the Costa Brava. Plans are for the Spanish network to have increased from the current 31 locations to around 300 branches by 2013. The goal is to cover the markets in all large cities throughout the country.
Völkers currently has around 170 offices in Germany, in practically all European
countries, the USA, South Africa, the UAE and in South-East
