Conergy supports move to stop global warming

Together with the Clinton Global Initiative and the Solar Electric Light Funds (SELF), Conergy is supporting a solar energy project to produce electricity in rural areas in Africa. This decision was taken during a three-day event in New York where Bill Clinton invited people to come and discuss political points of global importance.

The planned solar energy project shall produce environmentally friendly electricity to cover the needs of hospitals, schools, and water pumps in west African villages. By supporting this project, Conergy says, it shall be fighting to achieve two of the main aims of the Clinton Global Initiative: to stop global warming and to fight poverty.

Conergy AG has been named one of the fastest growing technology companies in Germany by the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Ranking. This Hamburg-based business made fourth place in the list thanks to its cumulative growth in sales of 2,700 percent over the last five years. Conergy is also active as a franchisor via its subsidiary, SunTechnics. The franchisees are mostly regional electrician businesses which carry out the installation work of the solar energy systems.

SunTechnics has become an internationally active company with more than 130 partner businesses. Besides being found in Germany, SunTechnics is active in countries such as Switzerland, Austria, Spain and Portugal, in the USA, Australia as well as in some Asian states.
