Chem-Dry franchise continues to expand
Chem-Dry, one of the world’s leading carpet cleaning companies, announced recently that the last year has been a time of significant change and continued growth. One of the largest and best-known brands in franchising with more than 3,500 units in 47 countries worldwide, Chem-Dry continues to expand in domestic and foreign markets.
According to the information provided, the company has focused on opening U.S. franchise locations east of the Mississippi River recently, where its presence is more sparse than out West. Chem-Dry was founded 35 years ago in Logan, Utah, where until recently the company kept its headquarters. But this year, new President and CEO Dan Tarantin decided to move much of Chem-Dry’s operation to Nashville, Tenn., a larger and more accessible location for the Eastern entrepreneurs Chem-Dry wants to attract.
Dan Tarantin, the former President and CEO of Jackson Hewitt Tax Service and a former franchise executive with Coldwell Banker and Century 21, took over leadership of Chem-Dry in November 2011 after his investment group purchased it and is, the company says, thinking big about the franchise’s future.
When asked about the future, he said, "It takes momentum to grow a franchise system. Right now, we’ve got great franchise development momentum, and the team, led by our vice president of franchise development, Bill Knight, is expecting to open over 100 new units this year. This should continue in 2013. We’re a really affordable franchise with a great record and excellent franchise owner validation." (kbp)
