We discovered how very few body shapes conform to the ‘standard’ European sizes found on the High Street.
We also realized that most people no longer have the time or skills to tackle even the simplest of hems let alone risking damage to a favorite or expensive garment.
Recognizing this needs we designed a high quality, modern clothing alterations business.
The Zip Yard has grown extensively, taking a contemporary approach to the clothing alterations business.
Interestingly the clothing alteration business is not economy driven!
When times are good more and more people buy new clothes that need altering. When times bad, people get clothes altered or repaired to last a little longer.
We have listened to what our customers are saying and in direct response we have launched our one hour express service for minor repairs, zips and hems.
We pride ourselves in highly visible and bold branding. This deliberately strong branding separates us from our competitors.
All our stores are finished to the highest of standards and include ‘state of the art’ machinery, computer system and in most cases our seamstresses work in full view of the public so customers can see for themselves the high standards of our workmanship.
