Description of franchise system

Helping people to stay healthy

Motivation & was launched in 1997, and in 2001 the first pilot franchise started its operation. Two further pilot franchises have proofed our concept to be a successful one before in we launched our franchise program in 2003. We provide specialist motivation, recreation, and exercise courses for older people.

Classes are held at residential and nursing homes as a recreational facility provided by the home for their residents. Our programs have all been developed by a professional, qualified team of therapists, and classes include stimulating, challenging, and motivating techniques that help elderly people to improve or maintain their physical and emotional well-being.

The Motivation & Co. concept was originally developed by our founder Elaine Everett, who's still the principal of our company today. Elaine’s granddad became very ill and had to live in a care home. It took Elaine several months to develop the concept of a professional service that helps a residents at care homes to maintain their mental and physical ability and dexterity by attending classes that are regularly held within the care home.

Elaine identified numerous physiotherapy and exercise specialists , who were accredited to care for elderly people. As a team, they worked out the details of a series of games and exercises specifically designed to motivate and stimulate older people and individuals with heavy physical disabilities.

Motivation & Co began its operation in 1998 in care homes around and in York. Current research has revealed that gentle stimulation and exercise can dramatically improve the mental and physical health of individuals aged between seventy and ninety. It can significantly increase appetite and strength, and improve the overall health, increase the self esteem and memory.

Franchise concept

Work rewardingly

From our experience we know that running a Motivation & Co business is a truly rewarding experience - both financially and personally. Just imagine how it feels to help elderly people every day. Also, the business is suitable for working mothers and families and can be tailored to fit your personal requirements.

Our classes are usually held Monday to Friday between ten o'clock am and four o'clock pm to fit in with the daily routine at care homes. In the beginning, it's possible to start part time until the number of clients increases and the demand requires a full time commitment. We offer several different business models, and we'll find out together which one suites you must during our initial meeting.
