Description of franchise system

Send some love

Ivory Tower Cards was launched by our founder and eponym Suzanne Ivory in 2000. It was quickly established as the leading greetings card company in the UK. Now, we have franchises established all over Ireland and the United Kingdom, providing independent retailers with an exclusive range of beautiful greetings cards.

In 2004 Ivory Tower Cards was identified by the prestigious "Retail Newsagent" magazine as the best selling cards range in a large, national survey. Our greetings cards franchise business specializes in placing fully stocked, shop-in-shop displays at independent, effective retail shops. These retail outlets can include, for example, newsagents, garage forecourt shops, garden centers, post offices, off licenses, stationary shops, grocers and greeting card shops.

The greetings cards industry is continuously growing: last year, retail sales exceeded the £1 billion limit and there's still lots of room for further growth. Today, people are buying more greetings cards than ever before and cards are given or sent for an increasing number of occasions. Today, cards are sent instead of letters, to thank someone, to wish luck or to send greeting from the holidays.

Teenagers, and especially young, girls, pass greetings cards amongst their friends as notes, and this is why blank cards - a card where customers can write their own message inside - are today as popular as the traditional anniversary or birthday cards . And, greetings cards are a recession-proof market segment. Even when money is too tight to purchase a present, most people will still find a pound to send a nice card.

For retailers, greetings cards are a low price unit, for impulse purchases. For successful greetings card sales , design and display are the key factors and, if you've caught the customer's attention with the card display, they will usually buy more than just one card to keep them at home in reserve.

Franchise concept

A hassle-free business

From the very first day on, our new franchisees have pre-established retail merchandises and displays, whilst they can focus on expanding their customer base by acquiring additional retail customers within their franchise territory. Our new franchisees will have the security and peace of mind of knowing that they are supported by an experienced team in the greetings cards sector.

Our involvement in training and organization makes sure that you'll receive the best professional support. This is why so many retailers are set on displaying greetings cards in their garage forecourt shops, CTN's, video shops, grocers or off licenses. It's just a profitable and easy way to increase the value of a retail shop.
