Description of franchise system
Conquer the UK with us
Jim’s Mowing is the largest garden maintenance group in the world with continuous growth in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and now the UK. One of the many reasons for the success of Jim’s Mowing is the ethos held by company founder Jim Penman. Jim started Jim’s Mowing in Melbourne, Australia in 1982, with just $24 spent on leaflets.
With his commitment to looking after customers, he soon had more work than he could handle. He took on subcontractors then began selling lawn mowing runs to people who wanted to start their own businesses. Jim is still actively involved in the day to day running of the company.
Jim’s Group now has in excess of 2900 franchisees operating in four countries . We provide garden maintenance services on a regular base or only perform one off jobs. Anyway, it is important to us that each and every customer is a 100% happy with the job. We're proud to perform high quality work.
Our numerous services include:
- lawn treatment
- lawn mowing
- hedge trimming
- pressure washing
- garden clean ups
- commercial gardening services
We are now entering the UK, and we are offering an exciting franchise opportunity for highly motivated and entrepreneurial minded individuals who enjoy working with people.
Become your own boss
The Jim’s franchise system is in many ways unique, reflecting Jim’s own ideals and principles. The purpose of the Administration Centre, for example, is to ensure that the best possible service to franchisees and clients is provided. Franchisees advise the administration centre which areas they are happy to work in, what services they offer and when they want to work.
A client who calls in will only be directed to a franchisee who wants that particular job in that area on that day, which means that a very high proportion of people who book a job actually have the work done. This gives Jim’s an enviable reputation in terms of branding and contributes to a very high degree of repeat business.
A Jim’s Mowing franchise business is not ‘employment’ or ‘subcontract’ work. Franchisees own their own business. Therefore you set your own prices, collect all money and are not required to report earnings. The main requirements are to work safely, have approved vehicle signage, wear uniforms and above all look after customers.
The main reason most people give for joining Jim’s Mowing is a change of lifestyle, a desire for flexible hours and less travel. Hours of work are highly flexible. Some work seventy hours a week, others less than half that - it’s all about choice.
