Winkworth franchise continues to expand into key southern UK towns
According to a report published on the website, prlog.org, Winkworth, one of the leading franchisors of real estate agencies in the UK, has opened its 89th office in Newbury as part of its targeted growth in key southern England towns. This is, the report reveals, the seventh new office in the UK in the past 12 months, following openings in Bath, Northampton, Lewes and Romsey.
In an interview, Dominic Agace, CEO of M Winkworth PLC, said, “We are looking to grow in national markets that complement our existing network and in particular our extensive London coverage. We have developed a strong network of country offices, enhanced by openings in Bath and Northampton last year, and now Newbury, all of which are important steps for Winkworth as part of our ongoing strategy of opening in prime U.K. markets that have a strong affiliation with the London market.
Originally established by Henry Winkworth in 1835, the Winkworth business and its three offices were acquired by Simon Agace in 1974 who saw franchising as a means of securing talent within a business. In 1981, he began converting the eight wholly owned offices to franchises. Since then, the network has grown across London and into other key provincial markets as well as into Portugal and France.
