United Auto: an increase in turnover and profits
The United Auto Group, an international automobile dealer based in the US state of Michigan, succeeded in increasing its turnover last year. The franchise company has announced that it was also able to increase its profits to 31.1 million US dollars during the last quarter of 2006.
"I am really pleased with the individual results of the shops, especially in the service and spare part business where the average increase per shop was 13.6 percent on the international markets," commented Chairman Roger Penske. Total profits for the year 2006 amounted to 130.6 million US dollars.
The United Auto Group currently has a network of 314 franchise car sales businesses which sell 41 different brands of automobile as well as 27 accident repair workshops. United Auto sells both new and second-hand cars, financial and insurance products as well as spare parts and also offers a repair service for all the makes of car it sells. 169 franchise branches are located in the USA and Puerto Rico as well as 145 outside the USA, most of which are located in Great Britain.
