Town & Country: Europe-wide expansion via master franchising
Town & Country, a house construction franchise network, set up its first
master business itself in Austria in 2004. The company now has master
franchisees in the Czech Republic, Poland, Spain, Romania, Switzerland and
Turkey – and the licence for Austria was also handed over to a master franchisee
last year. In an interview with the Internet portal, FranchisePORTAL, the
company said that it was intending to continue to launch its concept into other
countries using master franchising.
Indeed, Town & Country is planning to be active throughout the whole of Europe by the end of 2011 with a network of master franchisees. It is also considering moving into countries outside Europe. According to the company, it is currently holding talks with people interested in becoming a master franchisee in France, the Netherlands and Bulgaria.
In Germany, where the company was founded, the network consists of over 250 franchisees who are expected to build and sell around 2,500 homes in 2007. Just recently, the German magazine, Impulse, named Town & Country the third most important franchise network in Germany.
