The Phone House opens its 2,000th shop
The British telecommunications provider, The Carphone Warehouse, which is active on the European continent under the brand name The Phone House, has opened up its 2,000th shop in the Spanish city of Seville. The company has announced that it is planning to open up further shops in Europe as well as flagship stores in Germany.
There are currently 140 The Phone House shops in Germany. According to the system, it is planning to have almost quadrupled the number of its stores by March 2010 and so have a network of around 500 branches. "As part of our parent company’s expansion strategy, we will also be setting up flagship stores on primary sites in large German cities," explained Dr Ralf-Peter Simon, head of The Phone House in Germany. Main features of such flagship stores are, for example, separate service areas where there is seating for customers who wish to receive advice as well as a difference in the way the products are presented. The first flagship store is due to be opened up in Frankfurt am Main in February 2007.
