Southern Fried Chicken launches in India
According to a report published on the website, www.imagesfood.com, Southern Fried Chicken (SFC), a UK-based fast food restaurant chain, opened its first restaurant in India in the city of Hyderabad last week. The report reveals that the company is currently looking for franchisees throughout India with the aim of opening around 200 stores across the country.
In an interview Prem Jolly, director of SFC India, commented, “The company will initially open outlets in tier I cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and New Delhi. In addition to this, few potential cities in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, etc., are also on our radar. We have plans to open around 30 stores in the first year itself. However, our target is to make 200 stores operational pan-India by 2012 fiscal-end.”
Founded in 1983, SFC is currently active in 68 countries across the world. (kbp)
