Entrepreneur Magazine publishes its franchising Top Ten
The US American Entrepreneur Magazine has published its annual list in which it has named its Top Ten from the world’s 500 most promising franchise systems.
The magazine, which has been publishing this list since 1980, gave first and second place to the restaurant chains Subway and Dunkin' Donuts respectively. These were followed by the systems: Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, 7-Eleven Inc., the UPS Store / Mail Boxes Etc., Domino's Pizza LLC, Jiffy Lube Int'l. Inc. and Sonic Drive In
According to Entrepreneur Magazine, it assessed franchise systems which had more than ten branches with at least one branch in the USA and which were currently looking for further franchisees in the States. Irrespective of how large the systems are, the magazine took a series of factors into account such as financial strength and stability, growth rate, start-up costs, the percentage of partners giving up their franchise business and the possibility of financing the venture through the franchisor.
It did not, however, take subjective aspects into account such as franchisee satisfaction or the style of management. The list aims to provide those interested in joining a franchise system with some important points to help their research but should not be seen as a list of recommendations.
