Rebound after redundancy with Auditel

‘Joblessness is mounting more quickly among professionals as the recession drives hundreds of thousands onto the dole’, according to an analysis by the Financial Times. However, a survey by networking site Linkin, indicated that nearly half would use redundancy pay-offs to go it alone. Many have moved on to run their own franchised businesses.

Auditel are one of the UK’s leading home-based executive franchises. Established in 1994, they have built a network of over a hundred and thirty highly skilled cost and purchase management specialists who are widely regarded as being the best in the business. Head of Marketing Laurence Knott reveals that a record number of professional men and women have become franchisees since January – many of whom had faced redundancy. He says, “Having a home-based business but being in contact with so many likeminded colleagues really appeals. Although most markets are suffering at this time, cost management is booming as companies look to manage their expenditures more effectively. So much so, that more than one in five of our franchisees are currently earning in excess of £100k.”

Amongst the newcomers who experienced redundancy were Richard Grant and Martin Duhig. Richard, who held senior IT roles, says: “The Auditel business model is very robust but flexible enough to accommodate my personality and aspirations.” Ex-banker Martin says: “I had been searching for the right home based franchise for five years without ever finding something that excited me or matched my skills. On happening upon Auditel I knew my search was over. In my opinion, there is nothing else to match their professionalism, dynamism and the sheer opportunity to build a very profitable business of my own.”

Claire Power-Browne, who worked for various local charities and is married with 3 children, is now in partnership with Steve Ray who joined Auditel in 2007. To meet the demand, Auditel have introduced a regular programme of Free Discovery Seminars. Laurence Knott says: “They are designed to give an insight into how we work.
