Quiznos to enter the Indian market
According to a report published on the website, www.businesswire.com, Quiznos, one of the US’ premier franchise chains for subs, salads and soups, has announced that it has signed a master franchise agreement for Southern India as part of the company’s international development initiative. This will lead to the opening of the first Quiznos restaurant in India; plans are for five Quiznos restaurants to be up and running by the end of 2011.
Master franchisor for Southern India (which also covers Bangalore, Kochi, Chennai and Hyderabad) is Arjun Valluri, an experienced and successful franchisee who has already brought a variety of restaurant concepts to southern India.
In an interview, Lee Vala, International Chief Development Officer at Quiznos, said, “At Quiznos, we are well-positioned for tremendous international expansion. With shifting demographics, a young upcoming population and a growing affinity toward international brands among Indian consumers, our entrance into India represents an especially exciting opportunity for investment and growth. Mr. Valluri is an exceptional partner whose experience and expertise in the local market, combined with Quiznos’ unparalleled strategy for international growth and localization, will fuel Quiznos’ success in this rapidly emerging economy.”
Founded 30 years ago, Denver-based Quiznos offers its customers freshly prepared sandwiches, soups and salads. (kbp)
