New franchise company wins national award
FASTSIGNS has announced that one of its franchise businesses, which was
launched just over two years ago, has been presented with a national award in
recognition of its startling progress. The business is owned by Gill Brown who
turned her back on her career in IT management and sales in 2009 to go it alone
and set up FASTSIGNS® Derby.
FASTSIGNS is the country’s leading network of sign and graphic centres. The company held its national conference recently and also staged its annual awards evening where Mrs Brown was named ‘Newcomer of the Year’. One of FASTSIGNS Derby’s employees, Victoria Whitehouse, was runner up for the FASTSIGNS UK employee of the year award.
According to the information provided, the Derby centre was chosen because of the rapid progress Mrs Brown and her team have made over the last 12 months. Said Gill Brown: “When they announced I had won it did come as a bit of a shock because I wasn’t expecting to win at all. It was a really nice surprise and it was a big honour to win the national prize. It was a big step to leave corporate life and set up my own business but I have loved every minute of it. I have a great team here at FASTSIGNS Derby and this award is a real pat on the back for everyone involved in the business.”
Managing director of the company Garth Allison took part in the judging process and was also at the annual ceremony to help present this and other awards to the winners. Mr Allison said: “We are incredibly proud of the achievements of all our centres and it is nice to have the opportunity to recognise all of their efforts. We all know it is an incredibly tough trading environment at the moment but our organisation keeps going from strength to strength. The fact that FASTSIGNS is now the leading company in its chosen field is a result of all the efforts and hard work of every member of the team across the country.” (kbp)
