Michael Stanier joins Gap
According to a report on the Internet portal, marketingweek.co.uk, the fashion company, Gap, has taken on Michael Stanier as its new vice-president and managing director for its retail operations in the United Kingdom as well as for its franchise operations in Europe. Mr Stanier had previously been a director at Timberland. He succeeds Barbara Cook who is now working as senior vice-president for Gap’s stores and operations in North America.
The report continues by saying that the appointment of Mr Stanier could mean that the company is once again thinking about expanding within Europe by opening franchise-run stores. Gap currently has company-owned stores in the UK, Ireland and France.
