Kurt Geiger moves into Dubai
According to a report published on the Internet portal zawya.com, Kurt Geiger, one of Europe's largest shoes specialists, has entered the market in Dubai together with its franchise partner, Landmark Gulf Group. According to the information provided two stores have already been opened to the public in Deira City Centre & Mall of the Emirates. More stores are expected to follow in Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait this year. The plans for the next five years are to set up 30 Kurt Geiger shops across the Gulf region.
Neil Clifford, CEO of Kurt Geiger, commented on the venture, saying, “We are delighted to be partnering with Landmark Gulf Group. This is the first time Kurt Geiger has ventured into franchising and Landmark Gulf Group's strong presence in GCC coupled with their expertise in retailing validates them as perfect industry peers for Kurt Geiger.”
Kurt Geiger is one of Europe's largest luxury shoe retailers and is the largest wholesaler of Gucci and Prada in Europe. The company has 96 trading locations with over 70 concessions with leading department stores, including well-known names such as Harrods, Selfridges and John Lewis.
