Kumon franchise system opens up its first German satellite office

On 15th March 2006, Kumon opened up its first German-wide satellite office in the City of Frankfurt am Main. This means that Kumon Deutschland has now set up its first branch business for the Southern German regions in addition to its head office in Düsseldorf. The company, which provides after-school learning programmes to help children master the basics of both maths and reading, is hoping that, by opening up this satellite office, it shall be able to provide the Kumon centres in the federal states of Hessen and Baden-Württemberg with more effective support.

Kumon Deutschland GmbH is a one hundred percent subsidiary of the Japanese business, Kumon Institute of Education. The company’s teaching centres are all run by franchise partners. In Germany, for example, the first centre was set up in 1983, although the first centres were only for Japanese children. Other children were able to use the services provided by the Kumon schools during the 90s and today there are around 155 Kumon centres throughout the country. The Kumon franchise business is active in 44 countries across the world.
