Gerry Weber: increase in both sales and profits

The fashion retailers, Gerry Weber, succeeded in increasing both its volume of sales and profit during the fist nine months of the 2004/05 business year.

According to the news agency Reuters, the company has, as a result, also increased its sales forecast for the whole of the year. In addition to this positive news, Gerry Weber has also opened up 23 new shops since the beginning of the year, some of which are company-run with the others being run as franchise businesses. This means that the number of Houses of Gerry Weber has gone up to 93 with 45 of the stores being located abroad.

The board has announced that its first store in Great Britain is due to open in 2006. The business year – which ends in November – is expected to achieve record sales with the company expecting a turnover of around 400 million euros. All of the company’s brands - Gerry Weber, Taifun and Samoon – contributed towards this growth.
