Fressnapf takes over P&R Reitsportmarkt GmbH
Fressnapf, a franchise network selling pet food and pet accessories, has purchased the shares in the company P&R Reitsportmarkt GmbH held by the Grünwald family who had founded the business. The franchise company has announced that Fressnapf now owns 100 percent of the shares in P&R. P&R currently has 24 stores selling riding products, most of which are located in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
“We are looking to further extend our range of products and at the same time demonstrate to our customers just how good the P&R stores are,” explained Torsten Toeller, managing director of Fressnapf. P&R will remain an independent business in the future, he added. Arno Dormann, who previously held the position of managing director at P&R, will also continue to manage the stores. According to Fressnapf, Klaus and Bernd Grünwald have stepped down as managing directors of their company after selling their shares but will remain as advisors to the business. The family will continue to be franchisees and shareholders of the P&R stores in Krefeld and Münster.
