Fressnapf hands over a donation to support animal protection
Achim Schütz, company spokesman for the Fressnapf franchise network, handed over a donation amounting to 155,000 euros in Berlin to the president of the German society for the prevention of cruelty to animals, Wolfgang Apel.
The company explained that it has been working together with such organizations for many years now and has been supporting the German society for the prevention of cruelty to animals since 1996 by donating pet food and products to animal homes and organizing special campaigns. Since 1999, the franchise system has also been an official cooperation partner of the Deutschen Haustierregisters e.V., a society which helps to reunite owners with their runaway pets.
The current campaign began last autumn and was officially started by the German folk music singer and TV presenter, Maxi Arland. The campaign was given the title, "Fressnapf for animals in distress". Throughout Germany, all money received for dogs’ and cats’ toys bought at the Fressnapf stores, namely the 155,000 euros, was donated to the society.
