Franchisee recruitment – Are you being left behind?
Franchising expert Bill Hendrie has joined The Franchise Development Centre and aims to help franchisors get up to speed in the fast changing world of franchisee recruitment.
He says, “Ten years ago, when you were about to make a purchase of say, a new TV, you would have visited a number of shops, listened to the sales pitch and perhaps even read ‘What TV?’ magazine before making your decision.”
“Today, you would do your research on the internet and in no-time know more about TVs than most shop sales assistants. You would probably also make your decision about where to buy your TV from based on your online research, which will be partly down to how much useful information a retailer provides on its website. The way we buy things has changed dramatically and do you know what? It is equally true of the way people are buying franchises now.”
The Franchise Development Centre has been advising franchise businesses on the latest trends in franchisee recruitment for many years. However, with the internet playing a more dominant role in all we do, including the way people buy franchises, not surprisingly the speed of change has accelerated.
Bill commented “The game has changed. Some franchisors are currently having disproportionate success in recruiting franchisees and it’s largely down to how they are using their websites and the internet in their recruitment process. It is an area we specialise in and can bring results and real value to our clients – franchisee recruitment is the lifeblood of most franchise systems and being effective in this area is essential.”
On becoming a consultant with The Franchise Development Centre Bill said, “I am delighted to have joined what is widely recognised as the leading team of advisors to franchise businesses in the UK. I have hit the deck running and am enjoying working with franchisors by bringing fresh ideas and impetus to their businesses.” (kbp)
