First AYK franchisee awarded a BfS certificate
The first AYK franchisee, who runs an AYK tanning studio in the German city of Lüdenscheid, has been awarded the quality seal from the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection, the BfS. The company has announced that this certification not only underlines the high standards of quality of the tanning studio but also the quality of the tanning equipment used.
To be able to qualify for this certificate, the manuals had to be altered, the software had to be adapted to change the tanning time according to skin type, the training manuals had to be amended and the staff training courses altered. Peter Krischio, the AYK franchisee who was presented with this certification, believes that both the time and money invested in this project were well worth it, “The aim is to underline our high standards and to be able to show just how good our advice, hygiene and equipment are. This increases consumer confidence in our studio.”
According to the company, AYK franchisees have been allowing voluntary quality controls to be carried out in their businesses for many years now. Uwe Schindler, a member of the board at AYK AG, believes that the quality seal from the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection sends a clear message to consumers as it is an official recognition of the company’s high standards.
Founded in Germany in 1987, AYK currently has licensees in a number of European countries including Austria, Great Britain, Romania, the Netherlands and Belgium. To further expand its network, the company is currently on the look-out for potential master franchisees for Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland.
