Delikatessenladen: delicatessen goods via the Internet

The Delikatessenladen franchise concept is looking to work together with restaurants and hotels as well as with food shops, delicatessen shops, wine shops or bakeries which are interested in participating in retailing via the Internet. Such businesses are able to extend their range of services by setting up an online retail system as a Delikatessenladen partner selling a wide range of international specialities as well as wines, spirits, cigars, delicatessen goods and other products.

By extending their services in such a way, Delikatessenladen says, the partners take on no extra risks as they have no warehousing, they do not need to invest capital, nor do they have additional personnel and shop costs. The business is run on a commission basis. Delikatessenladen concentrates on extending its range of goods, negotiating and monitoring the suppliers, the conditions, keeping data up to date, technology matters, calculating the commissions as well as on providing training courses and advertising materials.

Besides its Delikatessenladen business, the franchisor, the Austrian company Seminar-Shop GmbH, is also active on the Internet through its other platforms: a “seminar shop", "Pro-Gesundheit" (health care products), an “advertising shop" and its "affiliate partner programme". The system can currently be found in Switzerland, Austria and Germany but it is looking to expand throughout the whole of Europe as well as into the Middle East and North America.
