Cartridge World supports National Tree Week

The Cartridge World franchise recently announced that their UK stores had once again contributed to National Tree Week (26th November - 7th December 2008) by monitoring how many cartridges they saved from landfill. A cartridge is considered saved from landfill, when a customer has a cartridge refilled or purchases a refilled or remanufactured cartridge.

According to the information provided, one tree will be planted in the stores’ local community for every 25 cartridges saved from landfill. By doing so, the company explains, not only will the community benefit but also the environment as over 47 million cartridges currently land up in UK landfill sites every year and this figure is increasing annually. Last year, during National Tree Week 2007 (21st Nov – 3rd Dec), Cartridge World saved 75,000 cartridges from going to landfill. (kbp)
