Cafe2U franchise continues to expand in Ireland

The Cafe2U franchise welcomed a new franchisee to its network last month: Keith Fennelly, a former crane driver, is the third franchisee to join Cafe2U’s network in Southern Ireland and will be delivering coffee and food to businesses, events and functions in the towns of Naas, Newbridge and Kildare.

According to the information provided by the company, Cafe2U is the pioneer of the mobile cafe industry. It launched its first prototype mobile cafe van in Australia in 2000 and, the company says, it was with this first vehicle that the mobile cafe franchise concept and potential profitability of this new style of business model were tested.

Cafe2U was taken over by its current owners in 2004, who developed a strategy to fully franchise the business. In 2005, the concept was tested in the UK and by the end of 2006 Cafe2U had grown to 50 franchisees in Australia and 6 in the UK. There are currently 103 franchise partners operating across Australia with a further 52 operating in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland. (kbp)
