BNF dresses franchising up in the latest fashion
This year’s BNF show, one of Spain’s most important franchise exhibitions, is being held in Barcelona at the Montjuïc exhibition centre from 3rd to 5th April 2008. According to the organizers of the event, new brands from the fashion and accessories sector, such as Trucco, Fantasy Store, dmtwo, Area Interior, Kool, Aïta, Camille Camisas and Sela, will be attending the exhibition. A catwalk will also be set up to enable the visitors to see the latest fashion collections and styles.
According to the director of BNF, Silvia Mas, “in a sector as competitive as fashion, franchising is successful because it specialises and is able to adapt to the needs of all consumers”. For Mas, the notable presence of fashion and accessory brands at the BNF “corresponds to the reality of the franchise system, as this sector tops the leader board with 16.5% of all franchised trademarks in our country”. Figures revealed by the Spanish Franchise Association (Asociación Española de Franquiciadores, AEF) show that the turnover of fashion brands reached 1,710 million euros last year.
Two other important areas, following the fashion and accessories sector, are the hotel and catering sectors. The organizers are expecting a total of around 180 brands to take part in the franchise exhibition and over 20,000 visitors to travel to the event.
