Ben and Jerry’s rests to the Foundation Theodora

The company of ice creams initiates a collaboration with the ngo that will allow that 300 children sick from Malaga, Toledo and Madrid should receive the visit of the Dr. Smile in their hospitals.

 

The chain of ice-cream Ben and Jerry’s has signed an agreement of collaboration with the Foundation Theodora. The aim of this charitable - social organization is to manage the visit of the Doctors Smile in several Spanish hospitals, in order to make the children sick stay more pleasant in the hospital.

The contribution that does to the Foundation Theodora will allow that more than 300 children hospitalized in the sanitary centers of Malaga, Toledo and Madrid are visited by the Dr. Smile. The intention of Ben and Jerry’s is to give to know the labor of this NGO, yielding physical space in its ice-cream stablishments and web page.

The Foundation Theodora was created in Switzerland in 1993 by the brothers Jan and André Poulie in honor their mother Theodora, after losing her because of a cancer. In January, 2000 the Foundation comes to Spain, and currently it is employed at 10 hospitals distributed by the diverse autonomous regions of Spain. The performance of the organization has achieved that every year 25.000 Spanish children receive the visit of the Dr. Smile, integrating the relatives of the child in the activities.
