Australian Homemade to open third shop in Berlin
The Belgian/Dutch ice-cream and chocolate specialists, Australian Homemade, is continuing to expand in Germany. According to a report on the Internet portal, cafeFUTURE.net, the system’s third Berlin store is due to be opened at the beginning of December. A fourth shop is also being planned at the moment – again for Berlin – with the starting date due to be in April 2006. The franchise partner, Theo Vermeulen, who also runs the other Berlin outlets, shall run this store.
The company has announced that it is expecting branches to have opened up in Hamburg, Stuttgart, Cologne and Düsseldorf by next spring. Australian Homemade is active using franchising in Asia, North America, Europe and Australia with the system consisting of 76 shops in 9 countries. In Germany, the chain can currently be found in the states of Rheinland-Pfalz, Hessen, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. According to the system, Australian Homemade only uses the same natural ingredients to make its products as those used by the Aborigines in Australia thus explaining the company’s name.
