AllBusiness publishes its list of AllStar Franchises
According to AllBusiness.com, more than 650,000 small businesses will start up next year, many of which will be franchisee-owned. For this reason, it says, it decided to launch its first annual ranking of the top 300 franchises in the country.
To be eligible for the AllStars list, a franchise company had to submit a Franchise Disclosure Document, financial data, and have at least 25 current domestic franchised units (or 100 company-owned units and 5 domestic franchise units). A number of criteria were then used to rank the winners including franchise unit growth rate, financial strength, system size, years in business, years franchising, availability of financing and Web (brand) visibility.
Having researched, compiled and analyzed more than 700 franchise systems over the last six months, the team of editors has now put together a list of the AllBusiness AllStar Franchises which has been divided up into a number of different categories:

AllStar Overall Rank: 1. Subway, 2. Dunkin' Donuts and 3. Choice Hotels International.
Growth rank: 1. Snap Fitness, 2. 7-Eleven and 3. Bonus Building Care.
D&B Financial Strength Rank: 1. Marco's Pizza, 2. Vanguard Cleaning Systems and 3. Passport Health.
System Size Rank: 1. Subway, 2. McDonald's and 3. Jani-King.
Longevity Ranking: 1. A&W, 2. Choice Hotels International and 3. Dairy Queen.
Web Visibility Rank: 1. InterContinental Hotels Group, 2. Choice Hotels International and 3. Pizza Hut.
