Nigel Botterill, CEO of N5, the company behind the franchise networks My Mag, The Best Of and Raring2go!, is looking to launch a new system in the UK involving the so-called “Quickie machine”. Quickies are giant mobile phone chargers which are shaped like a phone and can fully charge an empty mobile phone in just ten minutes. According to the information provided by N5, the service costs £1 a charge with each machine being able to charge several phones at the same time.
The machines are already proving to be a success in both the Far East and the Middle East and are in the process of being set up across the United States. N5 has secured the rights for the UK market and it is now planning, it says, to install around 10,000 Quickie machines across the country (for example in supermarkets or hotels) over the next two years. To ensure that it achieves this ambitious goal, the company is looking to build up a network of franchisees.
