13 new Kumon in Spain during the first semester 2006
One of the largest and most established franchise businesses in the world, Kumon, which has 163 establishments in Spain, foresees to finish the year with 30 new centres.
Kumon, net of centres with a system of after-school math and reading program that employs a unique learning method designed to help each child develop the skills needed to perform to his or her full potential, has put in functioning during the first semester of the year 13 new centres of education. With this, Kumon fulfills the plan of growth that had been fixed for this year and that gathers the opening of 30 new centres at the end of 2006.
These 13 new academies, are placed 2 in Valencia, 1 in Burriana (Castellón), 2 in Madrid, 5 in Barcelona (Barcelona, Cerdanyola, Badalona, Mollet de Vallés, and Esparreguera), 1 in Girona (Figueres), 1 in Lugo and 1 in Guadalajara. All of them will give the method Kumon from individually owned and operated centres, less in case of Guadalajara, in which the franchise will use the facilities of a school to give its lessons.Pupils' number also has been increased obviously. According to the information advanced in the III National Conference celebrated at the beginning of July for the General manager of Kumon España, Masanori Tsuji, ascends to 8.720, one 35 % more than in the same period of the previous year. Worldwide the chain has 75.300 pupils distributed among 44 countries of all five continents.
