TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® announced at the end of February that they had presented a check for $30,672 to the American Cancer Society at its corporate headquarters in Lansing. The company, which is, it says, the nation’s largest and only franchised moving company, has supported the American Cancer Society as its national charity of choice since 2000. This year’s donation brings the total contributions to $249,237.
Mary Ellen Sheets, founder, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, presented the check to Kelly Powell, director, Capital Area Service Center for the American Cancer Society. Powell thanked TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® for its exceptional efforts in helping the organization’s cause.
“I get a little choked up accepting such a great donation because it just means so much to everyone at the American Cancer Society,” Powell said. “So many Americans are impacted by this disease.”
Mary Ellen Sheets, founder, commented: “Supporting the local communities where we work is how we do business. As the “Movers Who Care?”, we are proud of our history of giving and that all our locations support that mission. The American Cancer Society does amazing work and we are thrilled to continue to support its research and programs.” (kbp)
