Vom Fass continues its worldwide franchise expansion
Vom Fass founder, Johannes Kiderlen, set up his first store selling vinegars, oils, wines and spirits straight from the cask in 1994. Today, Vom Fass has become an international network with over 200 stores and is especially expanding in Asia and the USA.
According to information provided by the company, five locations have been opened up in Japan and one in Hong Kong since 2004 and it will soon be active in Singapore, too. An important step, the company says, will be its expansion into the USA: it is launching its brand on the market there in November 2007. And it is not stopping there: Vom Fass is planning to start up in Australia in 2008.
The network has opened up eleven new franchise-run shops in Germany so far this year making a total of 140 outlets around the country. Besides Germany, the company is also to be found in Europe in Great Britain, Hungary, Latvia, France, Austria, Belgium, Italy and Switzerland and, Vom Fass has announced, it will soon being launching its concept in the Czech Republic and Poland.
Vom Fass believes one reason for its success is the quality of its products, many of which have received awards. Vom Fass’ own brand of vinegar, for example, has won the Superior Taste Award presented by the International Taste & Quality Institute in Brussels several times.
