Vapiano looking to extend its global presence
Vapiano International, LLC, a subsidiary of the German company Vapiano AG, has announced that it is planning to open over 80 new restaurants in the next four to eight years with the primary aim being to expand its presence in North America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Vapiano International currently operates 31 restaurants in nine countries and in 2007, the company says, it had successful openings in the U.S., Budapest and Istanbul. According to information provided by the company, it is expecting to open up new restaurants in Estonia, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Serbia and Croatia this year. Furthermore, agreements have been signed for a further restaurant in Washington, D.C. as well as for locations in Ft. Myers, Florida, Dallas and Boston.
The Vapiano concept: serving modern Mediterranean food whereby the dishes are prepared in front of the customers and the restaurants designed like a lounge. By deliberately limiting its range of food to pasta, pizza and salads, the restaurants not only reduce their costs as far as MIS and storage are concerned but people from other business sectors are able to join the network and learn the concept quickly.
