Papa John's opens its 50th restaurant in China
Papa John's International has announced that it is continuing its development in Asia and has recently opened up its 50th restaurant in China. This latest restaurant is in Shanghai and is being run by the Papa John's franchisee, Eternal Rise, and represents a further step towards the company’s target of setting up a network of 250 restaurants in China over the next four years.
Papa John's restaurants are currently located in ten cities across China including Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Kunshan, Jiaxing, Beijing, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Guangzhou. The company’s announcement quotes Robb Chase, Papa John's president, International, as saying: "Papa John's has proven that there is a big demand for a better quality pizza in China, and our franchisee in Shanghai continues to do an outstanding job meeting and exceeding those expectations."
With its head office located in Louisville, Kentucky, Papa John's is the world's third largest pizza company. According to the company, it has been rated no. 1 in customer satisfaction among all fast-food chains in the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) for seven years running (1999 - 2006).
